The Scottish-Style Ceilidh Experience is provided to you by an authentic ceilidh artist originally from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. He has hosted and planned Ceilidhs for over ten years for various big and small occasions. Therefore, he has versatile experience to assist you in the planning of your event.
He won a couple of corporate entertainment awards in the last couple of years and this year he additionally won a specialist wedding entertainment award.
Fast and furious Scottish Style ceilidh with a contemporary twist. Available as a Ceilidh DJ set up using recorded music and as a full band set up (usually 3 musicians and a caller). He provides the full Highland treatment at your event – complete with kilt, the works.
His audience loves the way his style of ceilidh encourages all your guests onto the dance floor, no matter their age or ability. It’s so social and inclusive. He is based in Derbyshire, and covers the whole of the UK including the Channel Islands.
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lea) is probably the most inclusive dancefloor you could have. It doesn’t matter how many of them you’ve done before, or if you’ve done none at all. The person calling the dances tells everyone what they need to do, and keeps it going. Everyone dances with everyone, whether you know each other or not. The more people the better! Everyone gets a go.
Essentially, most people are just guessing what they’re supposed to be doing, and that makes it brilliant!

We booked scottish-style ceilidh experience for our wedding and booked the Live Band package. Right from the beginning during our first meeting we knew we made the right choice. His energy and enthusiasm for weddings and ceilidhs is unmatched. He promised us he’ll get everyone dancing on the day and he more than delivered on that. As well as that, he was incredibly professional throughout. He was so helpful during the planning process, very quick to respond to emails as well as sending helpful information and guidance on planning. He was also very respectful to the wishes of the venue, regarding noise restrictions and when the live music had to finish.
On the wedding day itself, he and the band were absolutely amazing. They brought so much energy to the dance floor, a ceilidh that remained traditional but also with a few twists that just added extra layers of excitement and joy especially for those new to ceilidh dancing. The comedy hats were very popular with our guests. And finally the videos filmed by him during the ceilidh where brilliant and captured many moments that we will treasure looking back on. We genuinely could not have asked for a better ceilidh or a better way to end our wedding night. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone, who Is looking for the perfect entertainment for their special day.

My husband and I just wanted to say thankyou so much for a brilliant night! Everyone loved the scottish-style ceilidh experience dancing and he did a great job of getting everyone up to dance. Our wedding guests came from Scotland, Ireland, England and Jamaica so we had those who have danced at Ceilidhs before and many who had never even heard of one! However the dancefloor was always full and it was great to see everyone dancing together from the young to the old. The children loved it and it helped to keep them entertained! The hats were also a fantastic idea and enjoyed by everyone particularly the older generation!
We would also like to say that it was all very well planned, and the zoom meetings before the big day were also really helpful. He was also so helpful and friendly, he put us at ease and thankyou so much for taking charge of the music for our First Dance. You looked the part and one guest in particular who isn’t so familiar with Scottish wedding attire was delighted to know you only wear glitter under your kilt!!

The band are really great at getting everyone moving and reading the room, we did 2x 40min slots of dancing and everyone (even though the majority had never attended a Ceilidh) had a go and loved it!

We booked the scottish-style ceilidh experience for our wedding in June 2022. Communication was great from the outset, always responsive and easy way to book slots. He was always full of energy and enthusiasm. On the day he and the band provided great entertainment through the ceilidh as well as playing some cover songs as well.
He adapted the ceilidh so that it suited the number of people and space available. He arrived earlier so that we could use his speakers and mics for the whole wedding reception. Would definitely recommend! Thanks for being a part of our day 🙂

After attending one of the scottish-style ceilidh experience in Beeston my fiance and I decided to book him for our wedding – scheduled for back in 2020. He has been amazingly helpful all the way through the process, he agreed to reschedule without any fuss – several times -when Covid got in the way of our plans and offered invaluable advise when we were planning.
On the day itself his collection of hats were a great hit with our guests. He took away all the stress of the evening from us and organised our guests as well as calling some incredible dances that made everyone feel involved.
